Food is something that is usually planned out before leaving on camping trips. Whether you are camping in your tent, RV or a cabin, it’s important to have your meals planned out in advance so you’ll be sure to have the right ingredients to bring along. And when you’re camping, it’s always nice to have snacks available.

Whether you want something salty, savory or sweet, you can mix ingredients together to get your desired trail mix snack.

Nuts and Bolts Trail Mix
- 3 cups Chex corn cereal
- 1 1/2 cups bite-size pretzels
- 1 cup salted dry-roasted peanuts
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh rosemary
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees. Combine Chex corn cereal, pretzels and peanuts in a large bowl. Mince the garlic and mash into a paste with the salt. Stir together the garlic paste, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, paprika and cayenne pepper.
Pour the mixture over the Chex, pretzels and peanuts. Toss to coat the ingredients. Then spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet. Bake, gently stirring every 20 minutes, until toasted – about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Add rosemary to the mixture and bake for another 20 minutes.
Let the trail mix cool completely, and then enjoy! The mix can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 10 days.
